I Just came home from a consert with
Chris Potter Wayne Krantz, Fima Ephron, Ari Hoenig
I?ve never heard about the drummer Ari Hoenig before.
This was the most fun drummer i`ve seen since i saw
Bill Stewart live.
He looks like a lumberjack with a funny face moving around the set like he?s complete beginner.

He played just great and musical and with a passion
in a way that is not very often heard.
He did not play inverted paradiddles he played music
I left smiling after their last tune they played going bananas in 15/8

Anyone that can recomend som cd:s he`s on?

Yeah, Ari's cool. He has the "drummistics" [aka "drum-o-batics"] but chooses to let them take an extreme backseat to the music that's being played. As it should be [for the most part [img]wink.gif[/img] ].

I had to miss it when he came here recently w the Jazz Mandolin Project. Bummer. [img]frown.gif[/img]
